English for Foreign-Born Professionals

About the Program

The English for Foreign-Born Professionals Program (EFBP) is a specialized 40-hour program that focuses on professional, business, and workplace English. This course addresses the special needs of non-native professionals who already speak English well. In a small group of 3 to 8 students, our course features work in pronunciation, public speaking, presentations, conversation, vocabulary building, writing, advanced grammar, and stylistics. Idioms, slang, colloquial expressions are also taught. The EFBP Program is recommended for students at the high intermediate or advanced level of English Proficiency. There are two class schedules. 

 

  • 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturdays (4 hours per week)
  • 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM on Tuesdays & Thursdays (4 hours per week) – offered summer and fall

 

2019 Session dates

This course is offered in seasonally in 10-week cycles. Classes meet for 4 hours a week for 10 weeks.

  • Winter: January 15, 2019 - March 23, 2019
  • Spring: April 2, 2019 - June 8, 2019
  • Summer: June 18, 2019 - August 27, 2019
  • Fall: September 10, 2019 - November 16, 2019
